South Corridor Transitway | Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
Miami - Dade County, FL
Curtis + Rogers are landscape architecture sub-consultants to Perez & Perez architects for the proposed South Corridor Transitway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations project which will improve and modernize the current 20-mile South-Dade Busway and introduce 14 BRT stations including a parking garage. The South Corridor runs adjacent to US-1/South Dixie Highway and threads together the communities of the Village of Pinecrest, Village of Palmetto Bay, Town of Cutler Bay, Unincorporated Miami-Dade County, City of Homestead, and Florida City. The project will provide accessible stations that serve the surrounding communities and meet Sea Level Rise elevation projections, Envision certification, Parksmart certification, and TARC and BPAC approval.
In the end, the stations and their landscapes will be emblematic places along the US-1 corridor that serve the community and reflect their own identity tied seamlessly to place; serving as essential transportation hubs with nurturing landscapes that soothe people and the environment.
