Pine Jog Elementary School and FAU Environmental Center

First LEED Certified Public School in South Florida | LEED Gold

Pine Jog Elementary is the Palm Beach County School District’s first LEED (Leadership through Energy and Environmental Design) Gold designed and constructed school. The school serves as a model for all subsequent LEED certified schools in the county.  In conjunction with FAU (Florida Atlantic University) this school will also provide curriculum for students and teachers in environmental education.  Special attention was given to preservation of large swaths of existing vegetation as well as using 100% native vegetation indigenous to the specific local habitat types and designed to create areas for the children to grow and learn surrounded by nature.
