Aventura Arts and Cultural Center 

Aventura, FL 

 

Curtis + Rogers designed the landscape and irrigation for this new Performing Arts Center for the City of Aventura.  The Center is perched at the end of a spit of land overlooking Dumbfundling Bay.  This LEED certified project required Shoreline Review and special planting considerations because of its location next to the Ocean. Salt and drought tolerant plantings were used along with a reduction in water use to create a signature landscape for this cultural facility. This project was a winner in the 2011 ULI (Urban Land Institute) Southeast Florida Vision Awards.
